Hatha Vinyasa Yoga
With Erika Newberry
Erika comes from the Hatha, Vinyasa, Power Flow and Ashtanga Yoga Traditions (500hrs YTT). These classes incorporate vinyasa (flowing movement with the breath) as well as static postures, pranayama and meditation. These classes are suitable for beginner’s right through to advanced students as variations to the postures are offered.
Erika is particularly drawn to yogic philosophy and touches on patanjalis 8 limbs of yoga throughout her classes. She feels it is an enormous opportunity to be able to offer students the chance to develop new attitudes towards their practice on and off the mat. She encourages students to apply svadhyaya (self study) in their practice so that they can gain their own experience of the form of yoga being practiced.
Erika feels it is important to inform her students of the physiological benefits that they are achieving throughout their practice.
