Master your Tattvas
The Tattvas represent the five qualities that make up the physical body and world as we know it; earth (Prithvi), water (Apas), fire (Agni), air (Vayu) & ether (Akasha). This philosophy provides a basis for Āyurveda- the Science of Life. Both Kundalini yoga and Āyurveda understand these elements work in combination through body, mind and spirit to determine an overall sense of health and well-being.
This five part workshop will master the qualities of each Tattva, allowing us to be our own healing practitioner by harnessing inner balance and harmony. Each individual will organically adopt what is personally required through daily Kriya and meditation in establishing peace, resilience and harmony of all five elements.
There is a tale that weaves the gifts of these Tattvas, each one a unique teacher:
The first lesson is from Mother Earth. She taught the lesson of forgiveness. For even though man heaps mountains of waste and pollution on Mother Earth, she gives in return valuable minerals & food without which we could not survive. For all the negativity the seeker receives from the outside world, we should give the benefit of Earth’s spiritual essence, knowledge of self, and loving forgiveness.
Water teaches us to be cool and compassionate to others, embracing respect over exploitation or envy. Just as water is always flowing, the seeker should be continuously flowing and progressive, never stagnant.
Fire is the third teacher. Fire is bright. A seeker should burn with spiritual illumination to glow from the soul. Fire drives away cold and gives warmth and heat. Just so, the seeker should remove fear and dread of ignorance, of self and others.
Wind teaches to be unattached. The wind is subtle, not perceptible to the eye. The seeker’s ways should be subtle, not an open book for all to read. They should be a mystic, living in the depths of the spirit, no on the surface of existence.
The sky, which is all-pervading, teaches to remain pure and unsullied, and the art of subtlety. For ether is the most subtle of the five gross elements. Similarly, the Self is also subtle. The clouds of the sky only appear to color it, in reality it is forever blue. The clouds of this life only appears to soil the spirit, in reality, the spirit can never be soiled by anything.
