Puja

We are delighted to welcome you to an all-night Gong Puja taking place at Kundalini House on Saturday 27 July 2019.

What is Gong Puja

The Gong Puja is a sacred celebration and sound meditation, developed by Grand Gong Master Don Conreaux. The Gong Puja lasts 7 ½ hours which is the equivalent of 10 x 45minute gong baths.

Yogi Bhajan believed that the Gong was the most powerful tool for healing. He taught that the 45 minute gong session would clear any immediate blocks and 10 sessions would clear most blocks.

Gong Puja gives you 10 consecutive 45 minute gong sound immersions bathing in the sound of the gong, as developed and taught by Don Conreaux. During the puja we sleep through the night into the early morning bathed in the healing sound vibrations.

Immersed in the sound of the gong you may repair, cleanse and release tension and blocks. A deep state of relaxation maybe experienced, inner stillness and deep healing can occur – we meditate, or sleep, possibly a sleep like no other; possibly the sleep as though awake in a dream. Letting the sound to pass through you as if you were not there.

From 8.30pm you may start to arrive and set-up your bed. Puja will commence at 9.15pm with the 7 ½ hour Gong immersion commencing at 10pm. Gong immersion will complete at 5.30am and Puja will finish at 6.15am. You may remain after Puja until 7.30am on the Sunday at which time the room will need to be cleared.

Gong Puja is an individual experience, as with a Gong Sound Bath Immersion, the experience of each person in the room maybe quite different. Trust your experience is perfect for you.

Information for participants:

Wear comfortable clothes appropriate for sacred ceremony. For Puja we encourage whites.  You may like to have a head covering.

Bring your own bedding. All that you will need to be comfortable and is the size of your yoga mat (no wider or longer please). This may include:

  • 2 yoga mats
  • Blanket(s) – to cover over and you may like one on your mat for extra padding
  • Pillow / bolster for head and knee supports
  • Eye cover
  • You can bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to noises in the room, specifically snoring as this is likely to occur. The ear plugs will not prevent you receiving the benefits of the sound bath
  • Lighting in the room will be dim, not fully darkened. If you are concerned you will not be able to find your way out of the room then a low light torch maybe used (we find these are not generally necessary)
  • Water bottle

During Puja silence is observed.  Mobile phones should be on silent.

You may exit Puja for necessary visits to toilet; we ask you make as little noise as possible exiting and returning to the room.

Should you feel you need to leave the room for an extended period there will be a room where you may go and lie down or you may remain in the kitchen area.

We ask you not to depart the building unless absolutely necessary. Should this occur please notify one of the Puja team of your departure.

If you have any medical conditions requiring special sleeping arrangements such as breathing apparatus or medication, then this should be brought with you. Discuss this with the event organiser in order that we are able to accommodate your needs.

After Puja:

Whilst there are no specific requirements we do recommend you allow yourself time to integrate, relax and rejoice in your experience.

Return home safely. Take care if you are driving.

The vibration from the gongs will probably remain with you for a period after Puja. This “can” be several weeks
