SUMMARY:A Winter Solstice & International Yoga Day Celebration 2025
DESCRIPTION:Chanting 108 x Rounds of The Maha Gayatri Mantra in Japa Meditation For Renewal & Illumination.\nJun 21 @ 7:00 pm–8:30 pm\nJoin Avril for this special offering as we celebrate The Winter Solstice and International Yoga Day\, 2025 with our yoga community at Kundalini House\, inviting Renewal & Illumination. \nThe Winter Solstice is of cultural and spiritual significance\, a ritual celebration of the sun at its pivotal moment when it appears to stand still and when Earth (Southern Hemisphere) tilts away from it. It officially heralds in the Winter\, with our shortest day\nand longest night of the year. We offer this ritual in gratitude to the sun for perpetual Renewal of life on Earth. \nThe Maha Gayatri Mantra (Sanskrit)\, translates to the ‘great hymn’ which comes from the Rig Veda is considered one of the oldest\, most powerful mantras that has been continuously chanted by for over thousands of years. It carries the vibrations of all\nour ancestral voices. Each syllable and sound is arranged in a particular order and recited in veneration of the radiant glory of the Savitri\, the giver of light the radiance of  the sun. She Illumines all. This mantra is chanted for enlightenment. \nJapa is the meditative repetition of sacred sounds – mantras chanted with mala beads. An ancient yogic meditative practice that helps to calm the mind. It is also a form of pranayama and helps to regulate the breath. When chanted in a group\, together the\nexpression of sound becomes exponentially amplified and powerful The rhythmic vibrational force effects our being and environment. It is not always necessary for us to understand the meaning of the mantras\, chanting them with dedication\, repeatedly gives insight & illumines us from within. \n108 is the sacred\, auspicious yogic number for divine energy and cosmic connection. It is said to represent infinity. We use a Japa Mala (a sacred bead necklace) to keep count of this auspicious number as we chant continuously. \nAvril is a Yoga & Meditation Teacher of the Vedic tradition and teaches at Kundalini House. She teaches Shakti Mantra Meditation and has received Initiation of the Maha Gayatri Mantra from a traditional lineage of yoga. She loves to chant and share these\nancient Vedic\, Sanskrit sounds. She will often finish her regular teaching classes with a chant after Savasana. Avril enjoys creating community through yogic rituals and ceremonies.\nWhat to expect :\n The event begins at 7PM with a cup of chai and a greeting\n Chanting will begin at 7:30 PM with 3 x rounds of call & response. Since the studio will be dimly lit it may be a good idea to practice reading the mantra and familiarise yourself with the words ahead of time. We will then chant the mantra 108 x times together\, followed by a 10 x minutes of silent meditation or resting in savasana to end. \nThis is a deeply moving meditative experience. An offering in gratitude and reverence for the benevolent gift of life on Earth\, to our Mother\, the Sun and in celebration of Yoga. \nPlease don’t be put off by the Sanskrit & not knowing the words or how to chant\, if you have a voice you can chant. And even if you don’t know the words at the start you are most likely to do so by the end. This is great for creating new neural pathways in\nour brain. Chanting is also a healing practice for our nervous system\, it tones the vagus nerve and is balancing for the throat chakra – Visuddha\, our centre for personal expression and truth. \nFor those who don’t wish to join in the chant\, you can still come bathe in its vibrations. We recommend that you allow a few minutes for grounding and connection at the end before you leave. \nHere are the words : \nThe Maha Gayatri Mantra\n~ Rig Veda \nOm-Bhuh-Bhuva-Svaha\nTat-Savitur-Vare-niyam\nBhargo-Devasya-Dhi- Mahi\nDhiyo-yona-Pracho-dayat \nBOOK HERE\nTickets $50/$45 Concession/KH Members\nThis is an in-person only event. Please wear comfortable warm clothing and be prepared to sit on the floor/cushion. Space is limited. Please book your spot early.

It brings us back to the remembrance of our original state – the oneness of creation. \nThis Winter solstice as we acknowledge the longest night we will align ourselves with the cosmos with a four hour Puja celebration in which the gongs are played continuously for 3 ½ hours. The word Puja means to honour\, it is the act of showing reverence and recognising the seed of GOD which resides within. \nThe GONG is the sacred universal sound. With each strike a newness comes into being. In the cosmic resonance our nervous system\, aura and electromagnetic field may become vibrant and strong\, a deep state of relaxation\, calm and inner stillness can be experienced. \nThe individual’s journey may differ as the immersion of sound works on healing aspects in each of us. A meditative state\, or deep sleep or a dream state may occur and some may encounter the cosmic sounds and submerge into the vibration of the gongs slowly. Whatever is encountered is perfect so trust the process. \nVibrate the cosmos and the cosmos will open the door and show the way! Clear\, relax and hear the whisper of infinite and allow transformation. \nThe last strike of the gong will be at sunset 5.08pm \nEvent details for Gong Puja\, a Winter Solstice Ceremony \nWe are delighted to welcome you to the Winter Solstice Gong Puja\, a sacred ceremony with gongs taking place at Kundalini House. \nThis is an all afternoon event on Saturday 21 June 2025 from 1.30pm to 5.30pm. \nPlease be advised that attendance is only possible for the full event. \nYour hosts for this event will be Cathy Loughrey\, Saskia Cleary\, Praveen Hewage and Virginia Alexandra\, with Kundalini House. \nPlease arrive in plenty of time to complete your registration and set-up your mat. SUMMARY:Understanding Your Nervous System: A Gentle Path to Safety & Resilience with Billie Atherstone
DESCRIPTION:Understanding Your Nervous System: A Gentle Path to Safety & Resilience\nKundalini Yoga\, Meditation\, Mindfulness & Breathwork for Nervous System Regulation\nYour nervous system is constantly working behind the scenes\, responding to the world around you. Sometimes it helps you feel calm\, safe\, and connected. Other times\, it activates you to move\, protect\, or shut down in response to stress. These shifts happen automatically\, often before you’re even aware of them. \nPolyvagal Theory helps us understand these different states—why we sometimes feel open and engaged\, why stress can make us restless or anxious\, and why we sometimes shut down or disconnect. More importantly\, it gives us tools to work with our nervous system instead of feeling stuck in its patterns. \nThis course will guide you through the Polyvagal Theory in a gentle\, experiential way\, helping you understand how your nervous system responds to stress and safety. \nDrawing from over 10 years of experience working with trauma\, Billie will introduce you to practices rooted in Kundalini Yoga\, meditation\, mindfulness\, and vagal toning. \nEach week\, we’ll explore a different branch of the vagus nerve and its blended states\, using movement\, breath\, and meditation to restore balance and cultivate a deeper sense of safety and connection within. \nYou’ll learn:\n✔️ Learn how your nervous system responds to stress\, trauma & safety\n✔️ Practices to activate safety and connection\n✔️ How to shift from stress or shutdown into a more balanced state\n✔️ How to work with your body instead of against it \nThis is a gentle\, compassionate space where you can explore at your own pace—learning when to lean in and when to slow down. No pressure\, no expectations\, just an invitation to connect with yourself in a new way. \nInvestment:\nDeposit: $25  \nTotal price: $180 / $160 concession / $120 Members  \nBookings for In Studio Attendance\nBookings for Online Attendance\nUpon registering you will be required to pay a $25 deposit and then we will be in touch with you\, closer to the date\, to finalise your payment. \n  \nDisclaimer: Please be advised that Kundalini House has a cancellation policy which applies to courses held by or at Kundalini House. Please read the following carefully to ensure you understand the policy. • Please note: The $25 deposit is not refundable prior to 7 days before the program begins.
