Everything we offer is invitational\, and you are free to participate in whatever way feels supportive and comfortable for you. \nWhat if I feel anxious about attending?\nThis is very common. Many people who attend are initially nervous about joining a group. Everything is offered with choice and flexibility. \nWhat is trauma-informed yoga and qigong?\nTrauma-informed yoga and qigong are gentle and empowering approaches to movement that prioritise safety\, choice\, body awareness\, and nervous system regulation. Rather than focusing on achieving particular postures\, the emphasis is on helping you reconnect with your body in a way that feels safe\, supportive\, and sustainable. \nHow can acupuncture help with trauma recovery?\nAcupuncture may help support nervous system regulation\, reduce stress and anxiety\, improve sleep\, calm the body’s stress response\, and promote a greater sense of wellbeing. During the retreat\, participants receive a gentle acupuncture or ear seed treatment designed to support relaxation and integration. \nWhat should I bring?\nPlease wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Yoga mats\, bolsters\, blankets\, and all other equipment are provided. \nWhat if I need to take a break during the day?\nYou are welcome to take breaks whenever you need. We encourage participants to listen to their bodies and honour their own capacity throughout the retreat. \nWhat will I take home from the retreat?\nYou will leave with practical tools for nervous system regulation\, a personalised Polyvagal Map\, simple yoga\, qigong\, breathwork and mindfulness practices that you can use in everyday life\, a greater understanding of your stress responses\, and a deeper sense of connection to yourself. \nCan this retreat replace therapy or medical treatment?\nNo. The retreat is designed to complement\, not replace\, professional medical\, psychological\, or therapeutic care. Many participants find it works beautifully alongside counselling\, psychotherapy\, psychology\, or other health supports. \nWho facilitates the retreat?\nThe retreat is facilitated by Billie Atherstone\, Somatic Therapist\, Yoga Therapist and Trauma Recovery Program Facilitator\, together with Pip Atherstone-Reid\, Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Yoga Teacher. Together they bring over 40 years of combined experience supporting people through healing\, recovery\, and nervous system regulation. \nWhat is the size of the group?\nWe intentionally keep numbers small\, with a maximum of 10–11 participants\, to create a supportive\, comfortable\, and personalised experience for everyone attending.
