Suitable and beneficial for everyone. Easy and enjoyable to practice.

Qigong means energy work. It uses postures, movement, awareness and breath-work to influence, move and cultivate energy (Qi) throughout the body, utilising the same principles as Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, martial arts and yoga. Qigong has a history of some 5000 years and is deeply respected in Chinese culture for its ability to balance mind and body. There are hundreds of different kinds of Qigong, some specialised for specific purposes, and others  which bring a broad spectrum of benefits to those who practice them regularly.

Self-Healing Qigong is a simple yet deceptively powerful exercise. It is easily learnt in a weekend, and takes as little as 15-20 minutes to practice at home. It is not especially strenuous, yet will increase your strength and stamina over time. Other benefits include enhanced immune support, regulating of emotions, and recovery from illness. Specific illnesses which have shown improvement through regular Self-Healing Qigong practice include: chronic fatigue, heart and liver disease, diabetes, many pain conditions, rheumatoid arthritis, hypertension, gynaecological issues, digestive upset, mood imbalances and sleep disorders.

Through simple movements, postures and visualisations, Self-Healing Qigong helps to “unblock” areas of the body where Qi has become stagnant or unbalanced. Many practitioners notice increased energy, which is simply the body’s systems functioning more efficiently. On a deeper level, the same process can take place with emotions and mental processes, leading to the letting go of habitual resentments, sensitivities and fixations. In the long-term, we can gain a more positive outlook, and become aware of a wider ranges of choices.

Even if your health is already good, there may be underlying genetic, lifestyle, or other factors predisposing you to certain issues as life progresses. Qigong practice can be a way to offset these factors, like putting credit in your bank account for future use. Additionally, those with an interest in mental and/or spiritual self-development will find Self-Healing Qigong a valuable tool in creating a solid and stable foundation from which greater heights can be attained.
