This course is offered through the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine and Humanology — the premier international training organisation for Kundalini Yoga Therapy.

Join us in Melbourne for a powerful seven-day immersion integrating two essential courses and laying the groundwork for learning to teach therapeutic Kundalini Yoga.

For those who have not yet completed the Foundations course, the first two days — March 9–10 (Mon–Tue) — provide the full Foundations module.
Participants who have already completed Foundations may join from March 11–15 (Wed–Sun) for the Trauma Responsive training.

Course Details

Part One (for those who haven’t already completed this training):

Foundations of Kundalini Yoga Therapy: Principles and Practices
March 9–10, 2026 (Mon–Tue)
9:00am–6:30pm (with 1-hour lunch & two 15-minute breaks)

Level 1 Teacher Training prepares you to teach people who are healthy. A separate set of skills and a different way of thinking are required to teach people with health conditions.

This two-day intensive lays the groundwork for that next step — offering the foundation you need to begin developing the skills to safely and effectively teach Kundalini Yoga to people facing health challenges.

In preparation for this in-person training, participants will complete self-paced online learning through Teachable, including videos, articles, meditations, kriyas, and guided self-reflection practices. These materials provide the foundational theory and personal experience that will support your integration and understanding during the in-person component.

Through this training, you’ll explore the essential framework of teaching Kundalini Yoga therapeutically, including the principles of co-regulation, interoception, and therapeutic presence that distinguish a therapeutic approach from a general class.

Part Two:

Trauma Responsive Kundalini Yoga for Recovery from Post-Traumatic Stress
March 11–15, 2026 (Wed–Sun)
9:00am–6:00pm (with 1-hour lunch & two 15-minute breaks)

Learn how to teach safely and effectively to those recovering from post-traumatic stress.

Learn how to teach Trauma Responsive Kundalini Yoga to people recovering from post-traumatic stress. No matter what the cause of the trauma, movement through kriya, breath, and mantra are time-tested approaches clinically demonstrated to help people reconnect with their body, reduce symptoms, and move from a state of reactivity to an experience of safety and calm.

This training is skill-based: you will leave knowing how to safely teach Kundalini Yoga to those recovering from trauma, no matter what the source. You will learn and practice the specific skills you need to compassionately, safely, and effectively instruct a trauma-informed Kundalini Yoga course for people recovering from post-traumatic stress.

This training is science-based: you will learn how trauma dysregulates the brain, nervous, structural, and endocrine systems and what specific practices of Kundalini Yoga re-establish self-regulation and balance.

This training is research-based: three scientific studies on the 10-week curriculum you will teach demonstrate that this evidence-based Trauma Informed Kundalini Yoga curriculum is safe and effective for those recovering from trauma. You will also receive a review of published studies on the biomedical effects of yoga practice in trauma recovery.

You will not find this collection of skill, science, and research on the process of recovery from trauma through Kundalini Yoga anywhere else.

In This Course You Will Learn To

  • Identify the indicators of post-traumatic stress and what is necessary for recovery.

  • Understand the impact of trauma on the brain, glandular, and nervous systems and how specific practices of Kundalini Yoga restore healthy regulation.

  • Gain skill in methods to co-regulate with your students and clients.

  • Apply language and presence to deliver a trauma-responsive, evidence-based therapeutic Kundalini Yoga curriculum.

  • Support a person who has been activated to safely restore calm and presence.

  • Teach a 10-week, evidence-based trauma-responsive Kundalini Yoga curriculum for people recovering from trauma.
