About Pip
BHSc (Chinese Medicine), DipHSc (Acupuncture), DipCCM, CMRB, ATMS
For over 25 years, Pip Atherstone-Reid has been helping people restore their health through Chinese Medicine, using Acupuncture and Classical Chinese Medicine addressing the underlying patterns contributing to illness.
Pip has a particular interest in mental health, anxiety, trauma, burnout and nervous system regulation, as well as supporting women through perimenopause, menopause, fertility, pregnancy and other stages of life. She also enjoys treating digestive disorders, chronic pain and the wide variety of conditions seen in general Chinese Medicine practice. Her treatments are always tailored to the individual, supporting both physical and emotional wellbeing.
After completing her Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture) in 2001, Pip undertook an internship in Nanning, China, before working in Ireland for three years and volunteering in Malawi, Africa. She returned to Melbourne with a vision of creating a collaborative health clinic where people could access compassionate, integrated care. In 2006, she and her sister Billie founded Kundalini House, which has grown into one of Melbourne’s most respected centres for Chinese Medicine, Allied Health, Yoga, Pilates and nervous system wellbeing.
Pip has continued to deepen her knowledge through postgraduate study in Canonical Chinese Medicine, exploring the classical principles, diagnosis and treatment methods of traditional Chinese Medicine. Her clinical approach combines the wisdom of traditional Chinese Medicine with contemporary evidence and more than two decades of practical experience to provide personalised care for people of all ages.
Her passion for Chinese Medicine began through her own healing journey. After struggling with depression as a young woman, Pip travelled extensively in search of a way to truly heal. Following a profound experience with a Tibetan doctor in India, she returned to Melbourne to study Chinese Medicine, later meeting an Acupuncturist and Qigong master who helped shape both her practice and her understanding of health. These experiences continue to influence the compassionate, whole-person approach she brings to every consultation.
Today, Pip enjoys the diversity of general practice and values building long-term relationships with her patients as they move through different stages of life, supporting them to achieve lasting health and resilience.
Pip currently resides in Anglesea on the Surfcoast and consults from Ocean Road Allied Health and Movement in Anglesea.
