Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra Workshop in North Fitzroy Melbourne
Sacred Rest is a deeply nurturing restorative yoga workshop designed to support nervous system regulation, deep relaxation and emotional wellbeing through restorative yoga, somatic movement, therapeutic breathing practices, crystal bowl sound healing and iRest Yoga Nidra.
Created by Yoga Australia Senior Teacher Rachel Hanrahan, this immersive experience offers a gentle and accessible space for deep rest, healing and restoration for all levels and abilities.
Through carefully guided restorative practices, participants are invited to slow down, soften and reconnect with the body’s innate capacity for healing and repair.
This workshop combines restorative yoga, somatic awareness, crystal singing bowls and evidence-based iRest Yoga Nidra to support parasympathetic nervous system activation — often known as the “rest and digest” state — helping the body and mind access profound states of calm, repair and renewal.

Modern life often keeps the nervous system in states of stress, pressure and overstimulation, contributing to anxiety, sleep difficulties, fatigue, burnout and physical tension.
Restorative yoga practices can help activate the relaxation response within the nervous system, creating space for healing, digestion, emotional regulation and restoration.

Restorative Yoga
Gentle supported postures designed to encourage deep physical relaxation, nervous system restoration and embodied rest.
Somatic Movement & Therapeutic Breathwork
Simple movement and breathing practices to help soften tension, regulate the nervous system and reconnect with the body.
Crystal Bowl Sound Healing
Crystal singing bowls create soothing vibrational soundscapes that support relaxation, stillness and meditative awareness.
iRest Yoga Nidra
The workshop concludes with evidence-based iRest Yoga Nidra — a guided meditation practice designed to support deep rest, self-awareness and nervous system healing.
A Ritual of Self Care & Self Compassion
Sacred Rest is an invitation to pause, soften and reconnect with yourself through rest, stillness and nervous system nourishment.

What is restorative yoga?
Restorative yoga is a gentle and deeply relaxing style of yoga that uses supportive props and restful postures to encourage nervous system healing, relaxation and recovery.
Do I need yoga experience?
No experience is necessary. Sacred Rest is suitable for all levels, including beginners and those recovering from stress, fatigue or burnout.
What is Yoga Nidra?
Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation practice often referred to as “yogic sleep.” It supports deep rest, nervous system regulation and meditative awareness while lying comfortably supported.
Can restorative yoga help with stress and anxiety?
Many people use restorative yoga, Yoga Nidra and breathwork practices to support stress reduction, emotional wellbeing, sleep and nervous system health.
What should I bring?
Please wear comfortable clothing and bring anything that helps you feel supported and cosy during deep rest practices.
