Doctor of Philosophy, Dip Remedial Massage, Cert IV Massage Therapy, Cert Pregnancy Massage, Cert Reiki
Massage has always been part of my life. I remember massaging my mums’ shoulders when she came home from the hospital where she worked as a nurse back in Germany. Five years ago, I decided to turn my passion for therapeutic touch into a profession. I completed my Certificate IV in Massage Therapy at the Holistic Education College and later a Diploma of Remedial Massage Therapy at the Melbourne Institute of Massage and Myotherapy.
I am very happy to see clients across all gender identities and thrive to offer a treatment that nurtures and acknowledges the whole person – including body, mind, spirit and emotions. I am especially trained for and interested in Women’s health and enjoy supporting women during adolescence, pregnancy, motherhood, carrier, menopause and retirement.
An integral element of my practice is to create a safe, warm and caring atmosphere that allows clients to leave the activities of the day behind and immerse themselves into a relaxing experience. The massage itself is a time for mindfulness and meditation in order to achieve a calm and deeply relaxing state of mind. If there is a need to focus on specific symptoms, the treatment can also be interactive and might include recommendations for positive lifestyle changes. I believe it is important to tailor every appointment to the specific needs of my clients and offer the best service I am able to provide.
I came to this modality as I felt the urge to counteract our stressful lifestyles and to make a contribution to a health care system where touch is often under-utilised. I truly believe that massage is an important and often overlooked therapy – and especially helpful for people who deal with chronic pain, trauma, depression and anxiety.
At times of great distress or illness, massage may be too intense, which is why I started to include Reiki – sometimes combined with breathing exercises and spoken meditation – into my practice. My vision is to see a shift in how massage and other valuable complementary health practices are viewed, as I truly believe they should be an integrated module of public health care, rather than separate from it.
Kundalini House is a place close to my heart. It is where I experienced my first pregnancy/ postnatal yoga and meditation classes several years ago. I have always loved the energy of the space and I am very grateful and happy to be working here.
I am passionate about creating a holistic treatment that supports clients throughout their life and really enjoy serving and accompanying them on their health journey on a regular basis. The regularity can help to create a long-term habit change to pause and take care for oneself.
