Explore Harmonium with Sun Hyland
Saturday 30th September from 2pm-5:45pm
Join Sun Hyland for this 4 hour intensive workshop exploring the wonderful instrument that is the harmonium!
We will learn a series of simple kirtan/mantra songs together, and play (and sing) them together. This will be very hands on.
The following questions will be answered:
- How do I lead the group with harmonium?
- How do I communicate rhythm with harmonium?
- How do I sing and play at the same time?
To participate you will need your own harmonium, and a willingness to learn- but experience is not essential.
(you can hire one from Guru’s Indian Music Warehouse in Calder Park if you don’t have one- ask me for details)
Beginners will be shown everything they need to get started, build confidence with harmonium and get well on the way with a harmonium journey
Intermediate players will be shown how to improve playing and be given the opportunity to practice your skills in a group setting.
Nothing beats experience- so come and spend the afternoon with supportive like-minded souls and take your playing to the next level.
Delicious afternoon tea will be provided.
