Self-Compassion Workshop
Learn How To Tame Your Inner Critic
Saturday 22nd October from 1:30pm-3:30pm

How to Tame the Inner Critic.

So many people in western society have learned from a young age that we always need to be better. That we need to work harder, earn more, be healthier and fitter, be a better friend or parent. We have been conditioned to be hard on ourselves and relentlessly self-critical.

It makes sense then that so many of us struggle with an inner critic. An inner critic that can be harsh, blaming, critical or shaming, especially during times of struggle or perceived inadequacy.

How do we create a different, kinder, relationship with ourselves and ease our suffering?

Rapidly expanding research shows that mindfulness and self-compassion are strongly associated with emotional well-being, lower levels of anxiety and depression, better healthy habits such as diet and exercise, and lead to more satisfying personal relationships and enhanced self-care.

What is Self-Compassion? The simple definition: to treat yourself the way you would treat a friend who is having a hard time—even if your friend blew it or is feeling inadequate, or is just facing a tough life challenge. Self-compassion is learning to become an inner ally instead of an inner enemy.

This workshop will focus on how to tame the inner-critic and learn skills to soothe and ease toxic inner criticisms while promoting confidence and inner strength.
The workshop consists of guided meditations, visualisations, talks, experiential exercises, self-reflective writing, group discussions (of course sharing is always optional), strategies, tools and suggested home practices.
