We are in the middle of eclipse season and the annular Libran Solar Eclipse occurs at 10:27 pm on the 3rd  of October. This New Moon is at 11 degrees and is symbolised as:  A Professor Peering Over their Glasses at their Students, referencing the problems attending the transmission of knowledge in a special cultural setting.  This eclipse forms part of the Saros cycle 8 South that relates to finishing something and feeling sad at its completion while warning against physical injury through over-straining one’s strength. With the Sun and Moon in the sign of Libra, our security is linked to close relationship, we tend to think before reacting and there’s a strongly developed sense of fairness.  Mercury and Black Moon Lilith are both conjunct the eclipsed Sun in Libra, suggesting that diplomacy may be needed to manage certain situations peaceably. With Mars in Cancer squaring the Eclipse we may need to revisit emotional wounds, likely involving blood ties, before moving on.  Uranus also interacts with the solar eclipse, potentially ushering exciting changes into our lives. Eclipses tend to be times of rapid events when fate overpowers free will.

Expansive and optimistic Jupiter will station retrograde on the 10th of October in curious Gemini, motivating us to take an inward journey while appreciating our blessings. During this four month apparently backward journey we’ll be encouraged to shift our focus away from the big, expansive energies that Jupiter offers and to instead focus on the smaller details, while maintaining flexibility.

Pluto stations direct on the 13th of October on the 21st of November it will finally wrap up its journey through Capricorn, for another 200 years, when it once again reenters Aquarius . At the upcoming American Election expect to witness a final showdown as would be autocrats clutch onto the dominance that is slipping from their grasp. On an individual note we may make peace with ways that we have tended to grasp for power in preparation for a time of power sharing, with Pluto in Aquarius.

Mercury moves into Scorpio on the 14th of October, just a few hours after squaring its ruler Pluto, where the urge to penetrate to the core of experience underlies one’s communications. With Mercury in Scorpio one can form deeply intimate bonds through communication while the ability to establish connections with others may be inhibited by a perceived need for secrecy and silence.

The Aries Full Moon opposes the Libran Sun at 10:27 pm on the 17th of October at 24 degrees, symbolised as: The Possibility for Human Beings to Gain Experience at Two Levels of Being. The implied message here is one of faith and the openness to experience life and power on both the inner and outer planes. It announces the possibility of a new step in evolution. The luminaries are closely squared by Mars in Cancer at this Super Moon, adding to its warrior spirit vibe.  During this action-oriented Full Moon expect to feel inspired to take charge and push forward in a direction that feels good to us.  While emotions may be running high, we are being encouraged to act and become the leader in the situation. This Full Moon is  closely linked to the April Aries New Moon Eclipse  and there may be similar themes between these two events, perhaps bringing past intentions into reality.

Venus moves into Sagittarius on the 18th of October, where there’s a desire for freedom to roam and explore in order to feel comfort and harmony. The Sun moves into Scorpio on the 23rd  of  October, suggesting the need to embrace our dark side and express  transformative energy. Passion and intensity is often directed to transforming the status quo here.
