The month begins with both Saturn and Neptune relatively recently arrived in Aries travelling approximately a degree apart all month. The stern disciplinarian Saturn has been in Aries for a week and will travel close to Neptune purifying us with its Aries fire. While Saturn retrogrades into Pisces in September and Neptune follows suit in October, by February next year they will form an exact conjunction in Aries. The journey of these two planets especially as they travel closely together marks a huge shift in social norms, with both motivated to fight a much needed crusade against inequality and injustice and to pioneer new realms of self-determination. Saturn applies the required pressure and Neptune’s presence suggests we may face disillusionment when our idealistic visions clash with practical limitations or impatience when the task for re-building seems daunting. Their conjunction marks periods when empires and leaders fall and the boundaries between nations are transformed.
Pluto is travelling retrograde until mid-October. prompting a reflection on issues of power and control and building an appetite for purging deeply rooted trauma or habits in areas where we have allowed others to control us. After a long stay in Aries, prompting a few relationship break-ups, Venus moves into Taurus on the 6th of June, where material comfort is valued and there’s a deep appreciation of physical sensations and enjoyment of contact with nature, but a reluctance to release feelings or lose control. Then Mercury enters Cancer on the 9th of June, where one communicates emotionally, instinctively and sensitively and is protective of one’s own thoughts.
On the 10th of June, Jupiter, planet of the higher mind, growth and expansion moves into cardinal Cancer, where it will remain until the 1st of July 2026. With Jupiter exalted in Cancer we may conjure the faith that moves mountains. In general, high levels of intuitive guidance will be present to assist those who earnestly seek out guidance from on high. There is a need for sensitivity to others’ feelings in order to have confidence in oneself. Here opportunities come through one’s expression of protective empathy and instinctive nurturing. Wisdom comes from the gut and opportunities are felt instinctively and this is a reminder to listen inwardly, instead of seeking external teachers. With this combination, we’ll be given an opportunity for growth through our emotional awareness.
The Sagittarius Full Moon exactly opposes the Gemini Sun at 5:43 pm on the 11th of June. Full Moons are a time to decide what, and how much of something, needs to be purged from our lives. Extraneous responsibilities and unrealistic fantasies will tend to be expunged in order to allow fresh growth. The Full Moon is at 21 degrees, symbolised as: A Child and a Dog Wearing Borrowed Eyeglasses. It describes the value of learning through imitation and the use of imagination and make-believe in anticipating higher stages of development. While we might be overwhelmed with ideas and information, the Sagittarian Full Moon spotlights freedom and expansion exploration, faith and optimism, while helping to focus our attention on long-term goals and higher principles. There is emotional intensity in the air and perhaps some truth telling about intimacy and personal boundaries.
A square between Jupiter and Saturn becomes exact on the 19th of June. This is a reminder to hold onto one’s dream but not at the expense of reality.
The Sun enters Cancer on the 21st of June where one expresses self creatively through emotions and feels the need to be recognised for sensitivity. This signals the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year.
The Cancer New Moon occurs at 8:31 pm on the 25th of June at 5 degrees. This degree is symbolised as: At a Railroad Crossing, an Automobile is Wreaked by a Train. This describes the tragic results which are likely to occur when an individual pits them self carelessly against the power of the collective will of society. The Moon is at home in Cancer, ensuring an emphasis on sensitivity, nurturing and natural rhythms.
