Bringing Dreams into Reality: Leo Full Moon and Aquarius Solar Eclipse
February Astrology Blog Gil Dwyer
As always, February begins with the Sun in Aquarius and we are reminded of the impact of our personal choices on wider society and that we, the people united, have the power to fuel change and transformation on an extremely large scale. This February is an especially transformative month filled with enormous potential for change with the Saturn (builder) Neptune (dream) conjunction which is at the world axis (the first degree of Aries).
The Leo Full Moon exactly opposes the Aquarius Sun at 9:09 am on the 2nd of February. At 14 degrees of Leo, it is symbolised as:  A Human Soul Seeking Opportunities for Outward Manifestation. This speaks to the soul yearning for self-actualisation and encourages soul manifestation. At Full Moons we are encouraged and cosmically assisted to purge extraneous responsibilities and unrealistic fantasies, in order to allow fresh growth. The Leo Full Moon is a time when we are challenged to find the balance between our personal expression and the greater good of the group. The emphasis is on investing in self, developing our creative voice, and connecting with our vitality and essence.
With Uranus stationing to turn direct on the 5th of February and at the finish line in its journey through Taurus we have the cosmic push to build a new, more liberated reality, leveraging the lessons learned during its backward dance. We can expect accelerated change and some disruption, especially in the financial realm, and freedom from outdated structures, cajoling us to live more authentically and to embrace the future. Then Mercury moves into Pisces of the 7th of February, where compassion motivates one to express perception and intelligence sympathetically. Venus also moves into Pisces on the 10th of February where one expresses affection sensitively, kindly, compassionately and sympathetically and one is capable of selfless giving.Â
Neptune moved back into Aries on the 27th of January, followed by Saturn on the 15th of February Neptune and Saturn merge exactly on the 20th of February shortly after they re-enter Aries, where there’s an evolutionary lesson about using our skills and strength with humility. With Neptune in Aries until 2038 it will be important to blend spiritual idealism (Neptune) with pioneering action (Aries), . The first degree of Aries, the intersection of the equator and ecliptic, symbolises new beginnings, initiatives, and fresh energy. We are at a global crossroads, with this conjunction occurring for the first time in recorded history at the world axis point, where new cycles begin, and the interaction of collective and individual energy shapes the direction of humanity. This is a point of action, manifestation, and profound shifts on the world stage. The last time these planets came together was in Capricorn in 1989 as we witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall. This is about the dissolving of structures, and we can anticipate individuals making sacrifices for the group.
The New Moon, an Annular Solar Eclipse, occurs at 11:01 pm on the 17th of February at 29 degrees of Aquarius. This degree is symbolised as: A Butterfly Emerging from a Chrysalis. This relates to the capacity to utterly transform the character of one’s consciousness by radically altering the structural patterns of everyday living and the types of relationships one creates.  Under an Aquarius New Moon, one tends to react unpredictably, eccentrically and with detached objectivity and feel secure when exercising complete freedom of ideas and self-expression. Happening in the late degrees of Aquarius, tightly squaring Aquarius’s ruler, Uranus, and bringing the karmic beginnings and endings intrinsic to solar eclipses, this event occurs during a very unpredictable month. February is likely to be filled with accelerated change, surprises and opportunities for quantum leaps into the future. The Solar Eclipse in Aquarius will ask for a radical renewal of our relationship with technology, the internet, and our communities, offering us opportunities to break away from outdated ways of being and reorient toward our unique path.
The Sun moves into Pisces on the 19th of February where the sense of individuality is not clearly focused, due to empathy with the lives and problems of others and creative energy is expressed sensitively and inspirationally.
