Surprises and Opening to New Choices at the Gemini Lunar Eclipse

We are just emerging from a final Pluto-Jupiter conjunction with its focus on work that expands beyond whatever our conditioning and society’s influences deem possible to potentially bring ideas from our imagination into manifestation. While this conjunction also has a strong historical link with pandemics and the first and second merging of these two planets in April and June coincided with the first and second waves of the pandemic, we can only assume that Victoria has learnt its lesson apparently averting a third wave under this astrological influence.

The Sun squares Saturn on the 19th of November bringing the energy down to earth and suggesting pragmatic solutions to life’s many challenges. With the annual movement of the Sun out of the depths of Scorpio into the more expansive and optimistic frame available in Sagittarius on the 22nd of November we can anticipate a lightening up of the tone as our perspective expands to the horizon and the heavens. However on the very same day Venus moves into passionate and transformative Scorpio. Since the end of September Mercury has spent  most of its time  in Scorpio bringing up deep seated fears in preparation for a significant restructuring of our belief systems as it talks to the Capricorn council of planets just prior to the imminent exits of Jupiter and Saturn from that karmic and hard working sign.

With Mercury forming a trine to Neptune on the 24th of November it can be difficult to separate out reality from fantasy and the John Lennon song Imagine springs to mind.

The month ends on a lunar eclipse in Mercury-ruled Gemini bringing a great deal of creative potency and more than a few surprises. The Gemini Full Moon occurs at 7:30 pm on the 30th of November at 9 degrees of Gemini characterised as A Quiver Filled with Arrows. This cautions against going unprepared into battle. With the focus on communication, it alerts us against making claims without fact checking. The theme of conquest can be applied to outer nature, instinctual drives and the limiting power of the ego. Lunar eclipses bring sudden changes, many surprises and newly emerging choices into our lives. This is the first in a pair of eclipses to be followed up in a few weeks with a solar ecllipse in Sagittarius on the 14th of January.

With the transiting nodes of the Moon referencing our inherited collective karma, the North Node’s visit in Gemini (for the past six months and for the whole of 2021) has been bringing new information, opportunity and much curiosity. It is challenging us to question dogmatic viewpoints, as well as listening to and integrating new perspectives. Under challenge is our addiction to certainty as we listen more and try to remain receptive to being amazed at what we hear. Neptune stations to turn direct on the 29th of November. With Neptune squaring the Nodes the very next day at the Full Moon (and for some time to come) things can become particularly confusing and polarized. This energy can also be used positively to dissolve all sorts of boundaries. After such a challenging and unpredictable year, it’s time to open up to new options, make new choices and prepare for new directions. 2020 may have increased your understanding of where you have limited yourself in the past while providing thoughts on how to make changes to help step into the life you wish to embra
