The Wake-Up Call : Uranus into Gemini, Capricorn Full Moon and Leo New Moon

The Saturn and Neptune conjunction in Aries is intensifying this month and will come within a mere 13 minutes of exactitude for several days in mid-July. The journey of these two planets, especially as they travel closely together, marks a huge shift in social norms, with both motivated to fight a much needed crusade against inequality and injustice and to pioneer new realms of self-determination. Saturn applies the required pressure and Neptune’s presence suggests we may face disillusionment when our idealistic visions clash with practical limitations or impatience when the task for re-building seems daunting. Their conjunction marks periods when empires and leaders fall and the boundaries between nations are transformed and we are already seeing the beginnings of that process.

Uranas is forming a helpful, although totally unpredictable, sextile with Pluto and with the Saturn-Neptune conjunction and moves into air sign, Gemini, on the 8th of July.  With Uranus’s in Gemini, we can anticipate major breakthroughs in thought processes. Uranus is the planet of revolution and liberation, sudden change and progress, breakthroughs, sudden shocks, innovation, psychic interconnections, synchronicity and the overarching intelligence within nature. When Uranus is in Gemini there tends to be a focus on discovery and on using new ways to communicate and bringing ingenious ideas to life and revolutionising education. We may first experience this transit with a sense of restlessness and strain on the nervous system. We can anticipate new ideas about how to live. What is really important to us may change and new approaches to collaboration and group dynamics may emerge.

Mercury retrogrades in Leo on the 18th of July and will station direct on the 11th of August This is a period of introspection and we may experience delays and disruptions in relation to communication, self-expression, and creativity. While it can bring miscommunications and delays, it also offers a chance to rediscover joy and authenticity in your self-expression.

The Capricorn Full Moon exactly opposes the Cancer Sun at 6:36 am on the 11th of July. Full Moons are a time to decide what, and how much of something, needs to be purged from our lives. Extraneous responsibilities and unrealistic fantasies will tend to be expunged in order to allow fresh growth. The Full Moon is at 19 degrees, symbolised as:  A Five-Year- Old Child Carrying a Bag of Groceries.  It refers to the idea of rising to the occasion when asked to assume social responsibilities ahead of one’s normal development. The Capricorn Full Moon is a time when one tends to react with self-control and determination and there’s a need to manipulate the world and others in order to feel secure and to have authority. We are urged to balance our self protection needs at home with our need to make changes in our wider environment, while we might be overwhelmed with ideas and information.

The Leo New Moon occurs at 5:11 am on the 25th of July at 3 degrees. This degree is symbolised as: A Middle-Aged Woman, with her Long Hair Flowing over her Shoulders and in a Bra-less Youthful Garment.  This references the will to meet the challenge of age in terms of our modern society’s glorification of youth. It speaks to independence and the refusal by the individualised consciousness to be bound by biological or social standards. At the Leo New Moon there’s a focus on pride and confidence in oneself leading to emotional security. With the Full Moon opposing Pluto and forming harmonious trines with Saturn and Neptune and a positive, close sextile with Uranus we can anticipate change and transformation at this New Moon.
