A Dynamic Month: Scorpio New Moon and Gemini Full Moon

 

In January 2024 Pluto will move into Aquarius for the next 20 years, having given us a glimpse of things to come during March to June this year.  In the meantime as well as completing the US Pluto return as it moves through the final two degrees of Capricorn, Pluto is working to address unfinished business with a process of intense endings and beginnings and leading to a shift in the balance of power in the world. Over time the current power of the Plutocrat will happily give way to the power of the people.  During October Pluto formed challenging aspects with the inner planets most notably and violently the Pluto-Mars square which coincided with the Hamas attack on Israel. While aspects between Pluto and inner planets continue through November, they will tend to be more harmonious.

After a four month period of reassessing ideas and understanding the dynamics of past roadblocks, Saturn stations to turn direct on the 5th of November. While hardly moving at first the change should eventually lead to more direct productiveness and achievement. The numerous aspects that Saturn makes this month to other planets will keep us grounded in reality.

Then Venus moves into Libra, the sign of her rulership, on the 8th of November, where give and take with others is colored by balance, fairness and gentleness. Let us hope that this influence is felt on the world stage.

The intense Scorpio New Moon occurs at 7:27 pm on the 13th of November at 21 degrees.  This degree is described as: Obeying Their Conscience, A Soldier Resists Orders. It speaks of a readiness to face the consequences of a refusal to follow the authoritarian patterns of an aggressive society and of the importance of inner freedom. The Scorpio New Moon focuses the energy around our inner darker aspects and calls for transformation and release of one’s innermost feelings. This is a good time to make significant change in your life and one is likely to feel nurtured when giving or receiving intense emotional energy. Mars is less than two degrees away from the paired Sun and Moon at this New Moon while Uranus forms an opposition to this threesome, bringing a restless craving for action and an unpredictable element where there may be surprises or sudden change.

After gliding through Scorpio at record speed Mercury moves into Sagittarius on the 10th of November, where there’s a need to establish connections with others by being direct, truthful and broad minded. This is followed by the Sun’s move into Sagittarius on the 23rd of November with creative energy directed towards one’s ideals and aspirations, through not only expressing them but often also promoting them to others. Finally Mars, which is closely aligned with the Sun all throughout this period moves into Sagittarius on the 24th of November where assertion is honest, energetic and impulsive, if not a little tactless. Here decisiveness and strong actions are motivated by one’s aspirations toward an ideal or a guiding vision of the future.

The Gemini Full Moon perfects at 7:16 pm on the 27th of November at 5 degrees.  The Sabian Symbol for the Moon is A Revolutionary Magazine Asking for Action, which relates to the explosive tendency of repressed feelings and root emotions. Here there is a clear desire to move beyond established forms. The Gemini Full Moon inspires reconsideration of how we express our ideas, emotions and needs. Mars is close to the Sun and opposes the Moon, bringing an intense dynamism and the need for action. Saturn, squaring the Moon and Sun, grounds the emotional energy and provide elements of structure.
