Mercury moves from Aquarius into Pisces on Monday the 3^rd of February joining Neptune and Venus there and contributing to the dreamy energy, enhancing creative imagination and suggesting a pull towards the esoteric. While it will not go retrograde until the 18^th of February, it is worth noting that Mercury is now entering its shadow. Because Mercury will go right back to the final degrees of Aquarius in March, we may later need to revisit whatever is currently on our agenda in terms of our thinking, ideas and communications. Then when Mercury goes forward again over the territory it has reversed over for a deeper dialogue we can resolve outstanding issues in this realm—but more on this next time!

When Mercury interacts positively with Uranus on Wednesday the 5^th of February a touch of brilliance may temporarily be available in the zeitgeist. Then, on the 8^th of February, Venus then moves into Aries favouring the direct expression of affection and the enjoyment of new experience.

Nevertheless there is still a serious concentration of planets in Capricorn, with Saturn first moving on into Aquarius in March and Jupiter following this path by late December. While the more obvious effects of the Saturn-Pluto conjunction will start to recede during the year, Pluto will continue to break down the old top down patriarchal order showing us the extremes and revealing the shadow side of conservative power abuse, until its move into Aquarius in 2023.

The Full Moon occurs at 5:33 pm on the 9^th of February at exactly 20 degrees of Leo, poignantly characterized as Zuni Indians Perform a Ritual to the Sun. With Mars in Sagittarius forning a loose, yet beneficial, trine with the Full Moon courage is enabled and we may be led towards taking a bit of a risk or a leap of faith.

This is especially so given that just a few hours after the Full Moon, Mars in Sagittarius goes Out of Bounds as it moves beyond its usual orbit within 23 degrees north or south of the ecliptic and will be there until the 2^nd of March. When a planet is Out of Bounds its symbolism is amplified. In Sagittarius the assertion of Mars tends to take an idealistic, energetic, impulsive if not tactless turn. One’s strong actions are motivated by aspirations towards an ideal or guiding vision for the future.
