Finding Your Hidden Power and Strength at the Scorpio Full Moon

Power and control issues continue to dominate with Pluto and Saturn both maintaining their retrograde journey. Saturn has been travelling particularly close to the South Node of the Moon and teaching us more than we ever thought we wanted to learn about issues of control and responsibility.

Venus joins the Sun, Mercury and Uranus in Taurus when it leaves Aries on Wednesday the 15th of May. This makes for a lot of earth energy at this time. On entering Taurus, Venus meets up with Uranus on the day of the Australian Federal Election, suggesting change is in the air and that there’s some feminine and earth energies on the ascendency. (One can only hope!).

Mars went ‘Out of Bounds’ (think feral!) in mid-April and will stay that way until the 12th of June. Without getting too technical, this refers to the angular position of the planet above or below the celestial equator and is associated with a somewhat unbounded and exaggerated expression of the energy of the planet involved. You may have noticed an especially heightened aggro in the air of late, with Mars ‘Out of Bounds’ in verbally assertive Gemini. While Mars will reach the extreme of its unbounded state on the 19th of May, this will occur two days after it moves into emotional Cancer. Here it may be associated with people being easily offended or there may be some passive aggression in the zeitgeist. On the positive side one is inclined to pursue one’s desires tenaciously and intuitively, with an instinct for self preservation and a rythmic sense of timing in pursuit of one’s goals. This may coincide with a period of feeling our vulnerability or wanting to protect the vulnerable.

The Scorpio Full Moon occurs at 7:11 am on Sunday the 19th of May at the 28th degree of Scorpio. The Sabian Symbol The King of the Fairies Approaching His Domain speaks to finding one’s true vocation or purpose. At this Pluto ruled Full Moon secrets will be revealed and it will be a powerful time for unearthing and releasing old emotional patterns that no longer serve us. There’s a sense of getting what one has earned and it may be that we are being asked to go through an alchemical process, with particularly empowering results. There’s a magical and transformative energy at this Full Moon and we are being asked to release some deeply seated emotional energy that is definitely better out than in to avoid being in a stuck state. Self trust and self love are our allies on this journey. The potential rewards are large indeed and relate to gaining a deeper understanding of ourselves at a spiritual level. With the Sun closely aligned with Mercury (and hence opposing the Moon), there may be a conversation between the head and the heart at play, once that Scorpio Moon has enabled the unearthing of particularly deep fears that we may have harboured.
