Peace and Integrity at the Capricorn Full Moon Lunar Eclipse

After a somewhat subterranean journey through Pisces— at best linked to spiritual warrior energy—Mars is moving into its own sign of Aries on the 28th of June. Rather than the usual six week visit, Mars will remain there for six months, to include a retrograde tour from mid-September to mid-November. This is a significant shift in energy and we can expect plenty of initiative, will-power and restlessness to abound, hopefully linked with an intuitive grasp of essentials. Mars in Aries is characterised by a single point release of physical energy directed towards new experience. A positive link up between Mars and Saturn just hours after its change of sign promotes the ability to get things done with some helpful restraint and a sense of waiting for the right moment to apply assertive force.

The very next day on the 29th of June, Jupiter merges energy with Pluto for the second of three meetings this year. These two powerful planets are conspiring towards a seismic transformation in collective belief systems and can be expected to contribute to a transformation in social systems, structures and institutions. This especially passionate pairing brings an intensity and focus to move us beyond previous conditioned response. As Jupiter magnifies what it touches, the current spike in the virus and particularly fear surrounding it is unsurprising. Adjusting, remedying and building a more equitable society are on the longer term agenda.

After some deep soul searching about values and some overdue relationship changes, Venus is now slowly moving forward. Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto are all still retrograde and the process of review and retreat is still going strong.

The third and final eclipse within a month occurs like clockwork at the Capricorn Full Moon scheduled for 2:44 pm on Sunday the 5th of July. Integrity and peace are high on the agenda. While we may experience the frustration of Mercury and Mars battling it out, it is nevertheless a good time to be conscious of embracing a positive mindset and letting go of any obsessive thoughts that no longer serve. This is an ideal time to build new structures in one’s life with a focus on using time more effectively. Full Moons are always culmination points letting go of the past is encouraged at this South Node eclipse.

The Sabian Symbol for the degree of the Full Moon would appear eerily pertinent to the plight of humanity at this juncture. An Ancient Bas-Relief Carved in Granite Remains a Witness to a Long-Forgotten Culture speaks to the will to unearth what has permanent value in our culture, while letting go of non-essentials. What is prompted here is a penetrating and courageous insight founded on a valid historical perspective. It is necessary to separate permanent values and great principles or symbols from individual habits and the socio-political developments which have often perverted or negated the original ideals of the culture.

This eclipse will not be visible in Australia and is a preumbral, not total, eclipse with particular potency for North America, which is in the path of the eclipse. Significantly the eclipse point directly opposes the US Sun, occuring there on the 4th of July birthday of the current North American nation.
