Moving beyond Limitations and Drama at the Aries Full Moon

The recent Spring Equinox evoked a weighing up of our gains and losses to date in this Global Reset Year of 2020. With the Equinox Moon’s presence in Sagittarius perhaps progress, justice and the excitment of new horizons will help to guide us back out into the world and beyond the cauldron in which our souls have been immersed. The Equinox sets the overall tone for the next three months leading into the Summer Solstice on the 21st of December. By then the Capricorn council will have dissapated with only Pluto remaining there. A mere 12 hours later the once every 20 years societal game changing Jupiter-Saturn conjunction will be especially significant as it marks a 200 year elemental shift from earth to air of this cycle. Occurring at the first degree of Aquarius this conjunction acts as a strong marker of the move into the Aquarian Age. There is much work to be done by all of us in the lead up largely focused on our instinctual nature.

Issues of control remain high on the agenda as Mars in Aries travels back to once again square off with Saturn, then Pluto, then Jupiter before encountering them all on the eventual forward journey. Between now and mid-November it will be particularly important to choose our battles, with Mars so close to the Earth creating heat in its own warrior sign of Aries. The exact square to Saturn in its authoratative sign of Capricorn occurs on the 30th of September, just as Saturn stations to return to direct motion. Patience is a key virtue here as we are once again made aware of our limitations and structure and discipline will ideally be applied to our assertive, instinctual energies. Retrograde Mars is restructuring our will and ego, as we struggle to become our own self advocate. In this process we’re coming to understand the true value of anger.

The Aries Full Moon, exact at 7:05am on 2nd of October at 10 degrees is characterised as A Teacher gives New Symbolic Forms to Traditional Images. The reference here is to the revision of attitude at the beginning of a new cycle of experience. We are learning so much in these deeply transformative times and can now view the symbols of the past in a wider, more inclusive frame. The Aries Full Moon contrasts the need for self assertion with the urge for connection and cooperation with others. With the Moon lining up with Chiron the wounded healer, while Mars regresses through Aries, now more than ever it is time to heal the wounded masculine and to aim for assertion rather than aggression. Energy levels will be high and passions raised. This is a good time for physical activity or for striking out on your own. But beware of impulsivity, getting into fights, or starting something you won’t be able to finish.

Helpfully Venus moves into Virgo on the 3rd of October bringing a need for logic and practicality in order to feel comfortable and harmonious. Shortly afterwards on the 5th of October, when Pluto stations direct, long-term power issues will surface both in our personal lives and the world, perhaps helping to resolve a stalemate. When Pluto starts moving forward, all of our deepest desires and secrets will begin to surface.
