Preparation for Big Changes at the Pisces New Moon and Virgo Full Moon

The New Moon occurs at 5:04 pm on the 20th of February. The Moon joins the Sun for this event at the second degrees of Pisces which is characterised as A Squirrel Hiding from Hunters. This speaks to the need for an individual both to ensure his or her future subsistence and to protect themself from aggressive social elements. We are being reminded that the need for self protection and caution is ever present. With the Sun and Moon as well as Neptune and Venus all in the sensitive and compassionate sign of Pisces at this time, vitality and self expression are coloured by soul yearnings, overwhelming vulnerability and the state of the inner life. The Moon here is reminding us that periods of unfocused, free, imaginative daydreaming help bring emotional tranquillity. While New Moons allow for a new start this one is also about release and letting go of what no longer serves us in preparation for a birthing into new parts of our spiritual growth. In the lead up to its imminent move into Pisces for the first time since the 1990s Saturn is only three degrees away from the New Moon in the 29th degree of Aquarius. This is indeed a potent New Moon!

The Full Moon occurs at 10:41 pm on the 7th of March at 17 degrees of Virgo and is symbolised as A Volcanic Eruption. This references the explosive energy of long-repressed content of the subconscious. Everything must be released from the psyche seeking to attain the transfigured state. The soul must become empty, the mind translucent. With the Full Moon making an expansive trine with Uranus you can anticipate an increased inclination towards change and excitement and an expectation that something is about to happen. This will be borne out astrologically, particularly in the later part of March and with Pluto’s entry into Aquarius on the 24th of March. Trust your intuition and don’t be afraid to act impulsively.

March is a particularly significant month heralding a shift in signs for both Saturn and Pluto. The first of these changes occurs the very day after the Full Moon with Saturn moving from Aquarius into Pisces on the 8th of March where it will remain until 2025. Under this influence we can anticipate that boundaries will become more fluid and ripe for change. In the Saturnian desire for practical achievement we will be learning to integrate spiritual values with material ones. Allow yourself to be creative and imaginative and you can anticipate less interference from the ego. Saturn is associated with fear and in Pisces this can manifest as a challenge to our sense of trust in our intuition.  The power of healing, focused dreams and networks will be highlighted. We’re also capable of considerable effort and hard work in support and service. Expect changes in the entertainment industry and the introduction of more imaginative approaches to teaching.
